Who is this course for?

This course is perfect if you wish to start a new career as a blade repair technician in the wind industry! It requires no previous experience but candidates with a manual working background/trade profession or practical hands on skills may be adapt to the programme quicker. However, this should not discourage those who are keen an willing to learn.

The course involves the use of hand and power tools and a basic level of IT literacy is preferable.

Course Overview

This course will give you the knowledge to become a competent blade inspection & repair technician.

Over a 2 week period you will manufacture a section of a wind turbine blade. You will then replicate common damages caused by erosion, stress, lightning strikes, bird strikes, cracks and much more. You will then learn how to repair the blades and bring them back to their original form as well as maintaining an aerodynamical state. Delegates will also learn how to complete industry standard reporting documentation such as photocards, inspection & blade repair reports as well as the use of environmental condition devices.

Upon completion you ‘WILL’ be a knowledgeable and skilled blade repair technician in the forever growing wind industry.
